Registering and insuring a motorcycle can be a daunting task. Find answers below to some of the most common motorcycle licensing, insurance, inspection, and registration questions for Pennsylvania riders.

Does Pennsylvania Require Motorcycle Inspection?

Yes, Pennsylvania requires an annual safety inspection for all motorcycles. New motorcycles must be inspected within 10 days of purchase if they do not already have a valid inspection sticker. Most inspections occur between May and October, although legislation is moving toward year-round inspections. Inspectors evaluate brakes, tires, lighting, electrical systems, mirrors, fuel systems, speedometer, odometer, exhaust, and other safety systems. Riding without a valid safety inspection sticker can result in fines or penalties.
